Our History
Eléctrico Mezcal is a story of convergence: Kathleen Blackwell, Diego López, Ronan Chris Murphy, and Maestro Cirino, brought together through music, film, and San Baltazar Guelavila.
Origin
At its heart, the brand is a meeting between Kathleen Blackwell and Maestro Cirino, with Diego López as the essential bridge — not only a production story, but a relationship rooted in timing, place, and trust.
Place
The home of the spirit is San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca — anchored in Zapotec tradition, altitude, aquifer water, and a palenque shaped by artesanal methods rather than industrial shortcuts.
Timeline
Kathleen Blackwell performs “Eléctrico,” launching a creative path that becomes Project Eléctrico and eventually opens the door to Oaxaca.
Through Ronan Chris Murphy and Diego López, the circle widens toward Maestro Cirino and San Baltazar Guelavila — the turning point in the story.
The world around Eléctrico expands into documentary and visual storytelling, shaping the brand into something richer than a traditional spirits label.
His role as co-founder and connective force remains central to the brand’s identity — he is the reason Eléctrico exists in San Baltazar specifically.
The current story is not only about mezcal production, but about memory, craft, people, and the visual world that continues to grow around the bottles.
Award Winning
Seven medals across two years — including the 2026 Platinum for Best Mezcal and Best Agave Spirit.

Tres Familias en Una
Eléctrico brings together more than a founders’ story. It is the family of the palenque, the family of the music-and-film world, and the larger community around the brand.
